These people in their harsh, clinical shirts;
They fly by like hornets, bustling in the nest.
You’re doing great, miss!
Their corridors buzz with lights and noise,
Screeching against all hope.
I fear them. I know I fear them.
Well, not them; their representation, but I can’t remember what.
It won’t be long, I promise!
It’s like a dream; my heartbeat is away and somewhere else
And breaths come shallow.
The walls crush in, yet stay still.
I know I am waiting.
That’s it! Well done!
Waiting.
All this waiting! It is senseless, the waiting. Remember, perseverance.
Many hornets buzz past to see to others, instruments of gleaming chrome naped around them.
I pace.
Another few tries, miss!
And I pace.
The floor should give way, but linoleum can resist that temptation.
I stop, and hear a piercing scream from behind a door. I know I love the person who screamed.
And suddenly I remember why I was waiting.
And it gifts me both delirium and dread.
Almost!
Oh god, oh god.
